BEVERLY, Mass. — Endicott junior right-handed pitcher Will Fox (West Hartford, Conn.) has been chosen as the College's nominee for the Elite 90 Award ahead of the NCAA Division III Baseball College World Series in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
The Elite 90, an award founded by the NCAA, recognizes the true essence of the student-athlete by honoring the individual who has reached the pinnacle of competition at the national championship level in his or her sport, while also achieving the highest academic standard among his or her peers.
The award is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative grade-point average (GPA) participating at the finals site for each of the NCAA's 90 championships.
This year's winner will be announced at the NCAA Division III Baseball College World Series Opening Ceremony on Thursday, June 1.
Fox currently sports a 3.96 GPA as a business management major with a minor in business analytics.
His academic awards include one Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Academic All-Conference honor, multiple Dean's List selections, and membership in the Sigma Beta Delta Honors Society.
Fox has completed internships with On Deck Sports and Travel Insured International. Through those experiences, he has learned product management skills, enhanced his data research capabilities, generated heat maps to analyze competitors, and sharpened his presentation and public speaking abilities.
Fox's coursework at Endicott also has encompassed marketing analytics, human resources (HR) management, business decision-making, organizational behavior, business analytics and research.
On the bump for the Gulls, Fox has appeared in 13 games all out of the bullpen compiling a 1-0 record, one save, and 18 strikeouts (8.68 K/9) in 18 2/3 innings pitched.
His last two appearances took place in the NCAA Tournament — Bridgewater Regional against the host Bears (W, 6-0) and Johnson & Wales (10-4).
The latter contest was highlighted by Fox recording a three inning save (second career save).
