WHAT – A workout and assessment for middle school players coming off the small diamond and will be on the big diamond this coming spring and summer and want to play for WEST HARTFORD TEAMS
WHO – Middle School players who have aged out of WHLL and WHYBL , 6th , 7th and 8th graders who will turn 13 in 2026 are eligible to tryout for the spring and summer programs
WHERE – HALL VARSITY BASEBALL FIELD
WHEN – SUNDAY 10/26 3PM-5PM , PLS ARRIVE BY 245PM FOR CHECK IN
WHAT – TRYOUT SYTLE WORKOUT SO WE CAN PUT FACES WITH A NAME AND SEE WHAT THE NUMBERS WILL LOOK LIKE FOR SPRING AND SUMMER
SPRING (APRIL – MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND) , THE WH THUNDER U14 AND WH TORNADOES U13 WILL PLAY IN THE EAST SHORE LEAGUE
SUMMER ( 6/01 – 8/01) U13 AMERICAN LEGION WH POST 96 WILL PLAY IN ZONE 1 AND IN TOURNAMENTS ON SOME WEEKENDS , WE WILL ALSO HOST A TOURNAMENT THIS YEAR
THERE WILL BE A QUESTION AND ANSWER PERIOD FOR PLAYERS AND PARENTS IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING
COME LOOKING LIKE A BALL PLAYER, READY TO GO – PURPOSE OF THIS WORKOUT IS TO SEE WHAT WE HAVE FOR NUMBERS AND TO SEE THE LEVEL OF PLAY IS FOR THIS YEAR’S TRANSITIONS PLAYERS, EVERY YEAR IS DIFFERENT
WHAT IF I DON’T WANT TO PLAY TRAVEL IN SPRING OR LEGION IN THE SUMMER ? – We do have the tobacco valley league that runs both in the spring , summer and fall for players that don’t want that full time deep commitment. If this is you then there is no need to attend this workout , you can wait until spring registration.
WHAT IF I CAN’T MAKE IT SUNDAY BUT I’M INTERESTED IN BEING CONSIDERED ? there will be another email coming out early next week, fill it out THE FORM and send it in so we have your name and can account for you
IS IT EXPENSIVE TO PLAY FOR THESE PROGRAMS ? spring is $400-450 , summer is $600
CAN I DEVELOP INTO A HIGH SCHOOL LEVEL AND EVEN COLLEGE LEVEL PLAYER ? Over 60 players from WH in last 10 years who have played in these programs went on to play college baseball , two players were drafted , three players are now in MLB FRONT OFFICES , so yes you can reach your goals in these programs WHILE PLAYING FOR YOUR TOWN AND WITH YOUR BUDDIES,” best thing to do is ask the players from last year’s TORNADO and THUNDER team , and the u13 legion team what kind of experience they had “.
